I apologize for leaving you off the lunch email for tomorrow's event. I know it is partially Bill's fault, however I will take the blame for this one. I will do my best for this to not happen again.

It was probably all Bill's fault so I forgive you. Right now. I may retract the acceptance later though. Depending on my mood, it's likely to come up again.
